What can PDI/InfoServe do for me?
Store Automation —
By automating the stores manual processes, each operator recognizes a time saving in processing their day close. This is due in part to the efficiencies of automating and streamlining the processes with one-time data entry and math calculations being handled by the computer.
Store automation also provides more timely and accurate information because of the edit checks incorporated in the software and the speed of information processing. Operators can now be confident their vendors are charging the negotiated price on products with the implementation of the pricebook. The calculation of payroll time hours eliminates the need to manually run tapes to add together hours and determine the presence of overtime.
Store automation affords operators more time to focus on their core competency
— running their business — with timely information and providing enhanced customer service.
Inventory Control —
The PDI Management Reporting System gives retailers more control over their merchandise and fuel inventories. A purchases-to-retail-sales percentage highlights if an operator is building inventory. Inventory turns based on sales is automatically calculated. Purchases by product code for the current week, period-to-date and year-to-date show the gross margin percentage and dollars.
Gasoline inventory reports detail transactions for each fuel tank, by store. The system handles blended hoses and will accurately key the correct percentage of fuel from each tank. The fuel sales report shows each fuel type for each location and prints gallons, margin per gallon, average retail, and margin dollars. The fuel variance report shows the stick adjustments for the week-to-date, period-to-date, and year-to-date. The variance column shows those tanks that fall outside of the user-defined acceptable range. These are but a few of the tools operators have to more efficiently operate their sites and control their inventories.
Additionally, PDI/InfoServe provides on-screen inquiries into the status of an invoice or vendor, by individual location. This allows retailers to better manage vendors and cash flow by knowing who they have paid. Out-of-ratio invoices can be highlighted for any date range, providing insight into products that may be mismarked or have increased costs. These tools are part of the management report package that assists operators in achieving tighter controls.
Payroll Time Keeping —
PDIs payroll time keeping is an automated method for accurately calculating payroll time cards. The PDI Payroll System calculates payroll hours and provides each employee with a computer generated time card. The time card has the employees clock-in and clock-out times and provides a signature line for both the employee and manager. The manager verifies all payroll time cards on an easy to read time sheet which highlights overtime hours.
Management Reporting —
The key to greater profitability is timely and accurate reporting. Information drives the business. PDI Management Reports give operators the information they need to make timely and informed decisions about running their business. This information is provided on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
Once operators learn how to use the reports in their daily operation, they readily understand what their profit and loss statement will look like before the month end! The key is using the information to implement corrective action on a timely basis.
